This sheave adopts a composite structure:

• Outer rim manufactured by seamless ring forging

• Central steel plate welded to the forged rim

• Reinforcing ribs welded between hub and rim

• Final precision machining of rope groove

This design combines the strength of forging with the flexibility of reinforced structural welding.

Manufacturing Process

1️⃣ Ring Forging of Outer Rim

The outer rim is produced through ring rolling / ring forging, which provides:

• Continuous grain flow along the circumference

• High density internal structure

• Superior fatigue resistance

• Excellent impact toughness

Compared to cast rims, ring forging eliminates internal shrinkage and porosity.

2️⃣ Structural Welding Assembly

The forged ring is welded to a precision-cut circular steel plate, followed by welding of reinforced ribs to enhance structural rigidity.

The rib design improves:

• Radial load resistance

• Structural stability

• Torsional strength

3️⃣ Precision Machining of Rope Groove

After welding and stress relief, the rope groove is precisely machined to match wire rope specifications, ensuring:
